Music Together is a music and movement program for children from zero to eight years old and the adults that adore them. The curriculum is research-based and designed to support music learning as well as child development.
The program is family-oriented, and lets children learn from their key role models: you (the grownups)! Music Together also builds community by bringing families together and creating a comfortable environment for music-making. Now taught in over 3,000 locations, Music Together can be found in more than 40 countries.
“Our mission is to make the world a better place by making it more musical.”
Music Together fulfills its mission by offering music and movement classes of the highest quality and engaging parents and caregivers. By encouraging families to make music together, the program helps families realize that they are musical families!
“All children can learn to dance and sing just as naturally as they learn to walk and talk.”
Four principles that shape the Music Together philosophy:
- All children are born musical.
- All children can achieve basic music competence—that is, they can learn to sing in tune and dance accurately to a beat.
- It’s crucial that parents and caregivers participate in class and model music-making for their children in class and at home, regardless of their own musical ability.
- The environment that best fosters young children’s musical growth is playful, musically rich, and developmentally appropriate.
