Volunteer opportunity: Board of Directors
The Richmond Music School is currently seeking passionate professionals with experience in Finance/Accounting, Management, Legal/Paralegal, Human Resources, Fundraising, Marketing or Communications to join its Board of Directors.
The Richmond Music School is the largest and oldest non-profit music school in Richmond dedicated to high standards in teaching music, in both private and class settings. It enjoys a leadership position throughout Greater Vancouver for its many student performances and innovative programs. A volunteer Board of Directors, which consists of the President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer and 2-3 Board Directors, oversees the operation of the school and is responsible for its policies and directions. The Board of Directors meets once a month during the school year from September to June.
This is a great opportunity for experienced professionals who would like to apply their expertise in a non-profit organization or for emerging professionals who would like to develop their skills and gain experience through volunteer work. If you have strong leadership and administrative skills, enjoy working as a part of a team and have good communication and interpersonal skills, let us know about you!

Community, Board and Volunteers

The Richmond Music School is operated by the Richmond Music School Society, a non-profit society, registered with the provincial government in 1980. A volunteer Board of Directors oversees the operation of the school and is responsible for its policies and directions. Approximately 80% of the annual budget is earned by the tuition fees. The remainder is from the Provincial government, City of Richmond and by donations from local businesses and individuals. In 2009, the Richmond Music School Endowment Fund was initiated, to give the school a solid base for its future.
