  • Christine Anton (Voice)
    Studied in London, England, and Vancouver. Charter member, Vancouver Opera Training Ensemble and the Vancouver Chamber Choir. Veteran opera performer (Vancouver Opera Chorus), in musical theatre and television (CBC) across Canada.
  • Alana Chang (Violin)
    B Mus, Violin Performance, University of BC. Studied with Jasper Wood, Andrew Dawes and Calvin Dyck. Member, Prince George Symphony Orchestra, Kamloops Symphony Orchestra and National Youth Orchestra of Canada. First Violin, Pacific Symphony Orchestra, Principal Second, Richmond Community Orchestra. Ensemble, group and private coach.

    Choir and Orchestra Conductor. Singer (Mezzo-Soprano). Voice Teacher. Buenos Aires Conservatory of Music, Orchestra Director with specialization in Chamber and Symphonic Music. Assistant Director, Richmond Youth Honour Choir.
  • Rob Hollingsworth (Guitar)
    ARCT (Guitar Perf.), Classical Guitar jury examiner at Capilano College. Studied classical guitar with Michael Strutt, Angel and Pepe Romero. Taught at Victoria Conservatory and at Shawnigan Lake School. Played in numerous bands, shows, theatre presentations, concerts, and television. Composer of scores for film and television documentaries aired in Canada, the U.S., Australia and New Zealand.
  • Ray Horst (Clarinet)
    M. Mus., (UBC), B. Mus., (Univ. of Ottawa). Performed with both university orchestras and wind ensembles and the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra. Member of Touchwood Trio.
  • Denis Khvatov
    M.A. in Music Performance (Piano, Russian Academy of Music), B. Mus. (with honour) Moscow, 20 years experience as music teacher, teaching students age 6 to 16 and assisting in exam preparation; published a collection of piano pieces for young students; worked with students in Children’s Musical Theatre, Children’s Music School, Children’s School of the Arts (Moscow).

    B.Mus. (UBC). Certificate in Elementary Education, ARCT, RMT. Former Accompanist for Ballet BC, Chamber Music Accompanist and Music teacher for the Surrey School Board.

    Holds a Licentiate and Associate Performer’s diploma from the Royal College of Music, London, England; has performed at recitals for Music in the Morning, Vancouver Symphony Orchestra, Prague Chamber Orchestra; taught masterclasses at Oregon State University and Richmond Music School; Royal Conservatory of Music examiner
  • Tatyana Kravsun (Violin)
    Masters of Music in Performance and Music Education (Donetsk State Conservatory of Music, Ukraine); Bachelor Of Music (College of Music, Artyomovsk, Ukraine); Teaching Diploma; qualification as Orchestra Soloist. Has performed with West Coast Symphony Orchestra and Chamber and Philharmonic orchestras in the Ukraine. Extensive teaching experience in Russia, Ukraine and the Lower Mainland.
  • David Larson (Violin/Viola)
    B. Mus., B. Ed., (UBC). Former Conductor and Music Director of the Richmond Youth Orchestra and the Delta Youth Orchestra’s Intermediate Division. Has guest conducted and adjudicated at many festivals and competitions in the Lower Mainland. Teaches students aged 3 to 75 years and enjoys playing in chamber ensembles and orchestras.

    A. Mus., ATCL (Trinity College, London, England). Member of the Vancouver Branch of the Registered Music Teachers Association and a Past President of the Richmond Branch.
  • Darrel Loewen (Piano)
    MA, B.Mus., BA(Hons.)., AMM is a member of the Royal Conservatory of Music College of Examiners and a former Faculty member of the Manitoba Conservatory of Music and Arts, Piano and Theory. Adjudicated for the Associated Manitoba Arts Festivals, 1998-2005.
  • James Malmberg (Suzuki Violin/Violin)
    B. Mus. (UBC). Studied Violin with Nancy DiNovo and Andrew Dawes and has trained in Suzuki Pedagogy in Arizona, California, Oregon and Edmonton. Conductor of the Richmond Orchestra and Delta Youth Orchestra. Member of the Sinfonia of the North Shore. Has adjudicated festivals in Trail, Sechelt, Powell River and at the Langley Music School. Has taught at summer institutes in Edmonton, New Denver and Whitehorse and is a guest teacher with the Bulkley Valley Classical Strings Society in Smithers BC.
  • Stacey Mennie (Suzuki Violin/Violin/Viola)
    B. Music (honors) in Viola at Brandon University, further training in Suzuki Pedagogy in Stevens-Point, Wisconsin and in Langley, BC. Taught in MB, SK, & BC, adjudicating in music festivals, summer camps, teaching parent workshops and classes include chamber music, fiddle, viola & violin RCM preparatory classes & Suzuki group classes. Currently performs with the Richmond Orchestra and freelances throughout the Lower Mainland.
  • Michael Morse, (Rudiments, Harmony, Counterpoint/Analysis)
    AMusLCM diploma in Theory; member of the BC Registered Music Teachers ( Designation as Theory Specialist) and the National Professional Music Teachers Association; teaches all levels of theory - Rudiments, Harmony, and Counterpoint/Analysis; conducts Ear Training classes.
  • Bo Peng (Cello)
    M. .Mus. (Eastman School of Music), B. Mus. (Univ. N. Texas), Perf. Dip. (Indiana Univ.). Winner, Music Teacher Nat. Assoc. Competitions, International. Chamber Music Competition, Czech. Radio; soloist & chamber musician with festivals in Banff, Salzburg, Ottawa and others. Taught with Dallas Private School District. Teaching Assistant, UBC, completing Doctoral Degree in Cello Performance.
  • Lynne Piening (Flute)
    B. Mus. (Univ. of Toronto), ARCT. Performed with Kenya National Symphony, Vancouver Opera Orchestra, and Vancouver Symphony Orchestra and as Soloist with Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra. Performs regularly with chamber and symphonic ensembles throughout the Lower Mainland and Vancouver Island.

    DMA and M Mus., Piano Performance, University of Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music;  B Mus., University of Texas, El Paso; Jazz Studies, University of North Texas.  College TA, University of Cincinnati Conservatory of Music; private classical and jazz piano teacher; freelance accompanist.
  • Stephen Robb (Clarinet/Saxophone)
    B. Mus., (Queens), L. Mus., (McGill), M. Mus., (UBC), B. Ed. (UBC). An accomplished clarinetist, saxophonist and pianist in both classical chamber music and jazz idioms, performing music from classical clarinet, chamber and orchestral repertoire to jazz standards. Music Director of the Delta Community Music School, the Delta Youth Orchestra and teaches at Trinity Western University, Langley.
  • Chris Robertson (Trumpet)
    B. Mus. (Univ. of Victoria.). Performed and recorded extensively with the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra, Vancouver Opera, and CBC. Has performed as chamber musician throughout Canada, Soviet Union, India, Hong Kong, Australia, Japan, Holland, England and the USA. In 1996 released a CD Encores for Trumpet and Organ with Bryn Dixon and Regal and Romantic in 2000. Past member of Touch of Brass and Cornucopia. Former Conductor, Richmond Community Orchestra. A dedicated music educator, Author - Finding Your Own Voice.
  • Patricia Rolston (Piano)
    M.A. (State Univ. of New York), B.A., (McMaster), ARCT, LRSM. Performing career includes solo recitals across Canada, the US and Europe. Performances with symphony orchestras of Vancouver, Victoria, Edmonton, Saskatoon, Regina, and Hamilton, Lancaster, England; East Germany; Long Island, New York, as well as numerous radio recitals on CBC and WNYC, New York. Former Chairman and Senior Piano Instructor of the Music Department, Mohawk College, Hamilton, Ontario.
  • Susan Senkow (Piano/Theory)
    B. Mus. (UBC), Professional Teachers Certificate (UBC), RMT. Studied at UBC with Phyllis Schultz and Frank Townsell. Further studies at San Francisco State and Western Washington Universities.
  • David Skulski (Recorder/Oboe)
    Well known to the musical world in Vancouver, David was appointed solo English Horn with the Vancouver Symphony at the age of 17. After leaving the VSO he played with the CBC Radio orchestra and the Orquesta Sinfónica de Xalapa (Mexico). On returning to Canada, because of his interest in historical music, he founded Early Music Vancouver. Subsequently he was Resident-in-Music at SFU, taught renaissance music in Austria, founded and directed The Towne Waytes (renaissance band) and Harmonie (18th C. Wind ensemble). He is currently principal oboist with the Vancouver Philharmonic and the Burnaby Symphony.
  • Ross Strachan (Percussion/Drums)
    B. Ed, (Univ. of Calgary, Toronto). Arranging, Composition Percussion (Berklee College Mus. Boston). Jazz Performances with Moe Koffman, Les Elgart and Boss Brass. Symphonic work with Calgary Philharmonic, Toronto Symphony and Banff School of Fine Arts Opera Orchestra. Instructor Canadian Naval Reserve and Cadet Drum programs. Teacher of School Music programs for 34 years. Currently with Richmond Legion Band and Route 66 Big Band.
  • Yuri Zaidenberg (Violin)
    Post-Graduate studies at Moscow Conservatory, Russia. M. Mus. and B. Mus.,Rachmaninov State Conservatory (Russia), Music College and Music School (Ukraine). Training in Suzuki Pedagogy (Book 1-5) in US and Canada. Instructor, Chamber Ensemble Faculty, Rachmaninov, Russia; Professor, String Department, Turkmenian State Institute of Arts (University), Turkmenian Republic. Teacher of Special Music School for Gifted Children. Performing career includes recitals across Canada, US, Soviet Union, recording and performances on radio and TV, participation as soloist and concertmaster in US and South America Music Festivals. Adjudicator of Music competitions and festivals in Russia and Canada.
