The Suzuki Method
Children develop violin/piano/flute skills the way they learn to talk... by listening, imitating, repetition and motivation. This "mother tongue" method (Suzuki) is developed by beginning the child as young as four, and involves both the child and parent in private lessons and group sessions. Parental involvement is essential. Initial preparatory classes develop rhythm, pitch and co-ordination. Individual lessons begin at the discretion of the teacher. The RMS offers Suzuki courses in Violin.
