Important Information

MEMBERSHIP

There is a non-refundable membership/registration fee of $40 for an individual or family. This membership is a pre-requisite to registration and covers the academic year. The membership / registration fee will not be pro-rated for late registrants.

LATE REGISTRATIONS

The Richmond Music School accepts registrations for individual lessons throughout the academic year, subject to the availability of a teacher. In cases where these lessons are begun after the beginning of the term, fees are pro-rated according to the number of remaining lessons. Late registrations for class lessons are dependent on the nature of the class and the availability of space.

TUITION FEES

To register, complete the registration form and return it to the Office with membership fee. Upon request, we will issue a tax receipt for students.

PAYMENT

TUITION FEES ARE DUE AND PAYABLE BEFORE THE COMMENCEMENT OF LESSONS

Payment options include: payment in full, dated Sept 1 or ten equal payments, dated first of each month, Sep 1 to June 1.

Cheques are payable to: RICHMOND MUSIC SCHOOL. Payment may also be made on VISA or in cash.

Overdue accounts will be charged an interest rate of 2% per month.

All NSF cheques will be charged back to the student at a cost of $25 for each cheque.

The Music School reserves the right to discontinue lessons to any student who is an arrears with term payments or who is consistently late for or absent from lessons.

MISSED LESSONS

If a student is to miss a lesson the office must be notified 24 hours in advance and every effort will be made to make it up. However, the School is not under any obligation to provide refunds or make-up lessons unless cancelled on the initiative of the teacher. All lessons must be paid for whether taken or missed.

WITHDRAWAL

15 days notice in writing to the Office is required if lessons are to be discontinued. This policy does not apply to group classes. If a student drops out of a class during the term, his/her place cannot be filled, as the program is a continuous one. Therefore refunds cannot be granted.

CLASS CANCELLATIONS OR REVISIONS

The Richmond Music School reserves the right to cancel or modify classes due to insufficient enrollment. Should there be a demand for alternate classes or programs of instruction, the Music School will make every effort to provide such programs.
