Try our introductory violin lessons for Kinder (Kindergarten Ages 4 - 5 )  ​​​​

The classes will be 30 minutes long and held weekly as group lessons. Students will be introduced to the violin, posture, bow hold, and open strings.

 

This curriculum is intended to foster the early child's innate musical abilities to their fullest potential. It includes rhythm, singing, listening, and relating these to musical notes.

As a child becomes ready to play the violin, this foundation in musical interaction continues. It's important to start violin lessons with proper postures and a natural bow hold. The course is designed to ensure everyone also has fun while learning.

• 9 weeks of introductory/foundation classes for the violin

• 30 minutes weekly (group lesson)

• maximum number of students in a class:  4

• This is a parent-accompanied class.

 

Level 1 :

​

• Introduction to the violin,  posture, bow hold, and open strings.​

​

Level 2 : 

​

• Review of concepts from level, perfecting posture and hand position

• ​Learn to play notes on the fingerboard in the first position:

• Play notes with all four fingers 

• Learn to read notation

^Students who need to borrow a violin for the duration of the program to take home for practice (subject to availability and approval by the teacher) will pay a $20 admin fee and will be required to put $150 as a loan damage deposit by E-transfer. Upon returning the violin with no damage, the deposit will be fully refunded.
