RMS is pleased to introduce our Chamber Ensemble Program in July 2021 as an introduction to the program that will be offered in September. Auditions will be in June for all interested participants. This is suitable for violinists from RCM Grade 3 and up, or ABRSM grade 2 and up. We will have small ensemble groups for Junior, Intermediate and Senior Grades. This is a great experience for string players seeking a collaborative experience. Students will spend the morning warming up and learning repertoire, then break into small groups to rehearse in different rooms. We invite all interested RMS students and new violin, viola, and cello students to join.
This program will be directed by our strings faculty. This is an especially good time to join this program as big group performances are not likely possible for quite some time due to COVID-19 restrictions.
Dates: July to August (two-week program) July 5-16, July 19-30, August 2-13
Mon, Wed and Fri OR Tues, Thurs, Sat (two hours each day)
Time: Please indicate your choice in the audition form.
Fee: $150
Each ensemble group will be made up of 2-4 students, and COVID-19 protocols will be in place to ensure safety for all students and faculty.
In September, this program will be offered to all RMS students for a nominal fee each term. Rehearsals will be weekly in the fall and more frequent as we near performances.
